Meet Our Presenters...

Ren Allen lives in the Appalachian mountains of Eastern Tennessee with four radically unschooled children, a husband that got dragged into the unschooling life before he knew what hit him and an assortment of pets including a somewhat neurotic cat. She has been passionately speaking and writing about unschooling for a number of years, all the while ingesting large amounts of tea and truffles. Her children are her greatest "bhodisatvas" whom she considers partners in this journey called life. Believing that all humans are born as creative geniuses she spends much of her time encouraging healing discussions and creative exploration for anyone who has forgotten this truth. In between learning adventures, tea or truffles, you can catch up with her at www.LearningInFreedom.com, or by joining the yahoo groups ImaginationTribe or UnschoolingBasics.

Marji Zintz is the incredibly blessed mom of 13-year-old Liam; they live in the lower Hudson Valley with Jim, Liam's dad, and Zamm and Autumn, their ever-patient cats. Liam, a first-grade drop-out, learns about his world and himself on his own terms. Marji, ever grateful for this opportunity to be Liam's mom, is a musician who is one third of the trio GaiaWolf.

Dayna Martin lives Joyfully in the White Mountains of NH with her husband Joe and three children Devin, Dakota & Ivy. They will have a 4 month old baby boy at the time of the conference. She and her family enjoy spending all day, everyday together pursuing their passions and creating the lives they desire. Dayna is a Radical Unschooling Advocate who promotes Peace through encouraging kindness and acceptance. Dayna is a public speaker and writer for such magazines as "Life Learning Magazine" and "Live Free, Learn Free Magazine". She is an Unschooling Mentor offering free phone support to others striving for a life of Joy and Peace with their children. Dayna is also a La Leche League Leader, Natural Birth Educator and Doula. She is presently working on her first book about birth. Dayna's website is www.UnschoolingAmerica.com and she also owns the yahoo group RadicalUnschooling.

Julian BaptistaJulian Baptista is an 18 year old musician, an activist, a Goddard College student majoring in music and social justice, and an unschooler. (More about how he can be an unschooler AND a college student at the conference!) Unschooling has offered him many opportunities to explore, learn, and develop his strange sense of humor. He lives in Salem, Massachusetts and is invaluable at helping to develop the conferences.

Jon Kream had half a toasted bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. He lives at N 42.01160 W 71.02281 with his very patient wife, Rue, and their usually unabashed children, Dagny (15) and Rowan (11). They have unschooled since Dagny left kindergarten. His years of education in Art in Architecture provided absolutely no pertinent experience for either his former career in IT or his current career, collecting debt (through peaceful means only) for the family business he swore as a child he would never join. Jon provides technical support for the www.unschooling.info website and forum. He enjoys his family, motorcycling, eating meat, and quiet walks on the beach at sunset. Jon has never won a Nobel Prize, and it doesn't bother him at all. Jon has almost completed HALO at Legendary, but now he's stuck at the Truth and Reconciliation level. Jon Kream may have tried too hard to make his bio entertaining.

Dagny Kream is a 15 year old unschooler of 10 years, she enjoys spinning yarn, all types of dance, (currently she knows Lindy Hop, Waltz, East Coast Swing and Hiphop and would love to teach you any of them), Crochet, Recycling, being with her family, friends, and boyfriend, and drawing with prismacolor pencils. She believes that trust is the trunk of the unschooling "tree" and that not everyone understands that, and that they should!

My name is Erika Davis-Pitre. I am married and we have 3 adult children and one teenage son, who is our unschooler(we also have a son-in-law and an infant grandson). We (DH & youngest DS), live in central CT but we were all born and raised in Seattle.

Living in the NE for the past 7+years as unschoolers has been an experience that has changed our lives in so many ways that it is very hard to describe. I am so grateful for all of the good friends that I have made along the way here and all of the opportunities that we have had to commune with like minded souls.

I have hosted many unschooling gatherings in the greater Hartford area as a way to create community and to give and receive support. And I have attended and spoken at the first NE Unschooling conference in 2006, spoken at 3 of the national Live & Learn unschooling conferences and have spoken at many other local conferences and un/homeschooling fairs. It is my great pleasure to be to attend and speak at the 2nd NE Unschooling Conference.

More bios to come!
